Is it easy to join/how long does it take?

Joining MTL is quick and simple, but you will have to wait a bit for admin to approve your profile. We require you to provide a few simple details like your preferred MTL username and password, first name, nickname, valid email address, gender, age and country. You can also enter a description about yourself, but please do not include any personal contact info or links as they are not allowed and we will have to suspend or delete your account. After completing these items you must accept our “Terms of Service” and check the box. You can then submit your information and we will promptly send a message to the email address you provided.

What happens after I submit my profile?

We will promptly send a message to the email address you provided. **Please check your spam or junk mail folder if you do not see our message in your regular inbox. And make sure to notify your email provider that MTL is a safe site**. After opening our email you must click on the activation link (or cut and paste the code into the confirm registration box) in order to fully activate your membership. We usually give you about a week to activate your membership and then we will delete the profile from our records.

Does activation mean my profile is working 100%?

After activating your membership you can enjoy many of our features, but you will not be able to send messages to other members until we review and approve your profile. Our approval process will normally take between 1 -12 hours and sometimes up to 24 hours. Please be patient and use this extra time to add your photos and to complete the rest of your profile information. You can also add other members to one of your favorite’s lists during this time.

Can I edit my profile again after I submit it?

Editing your profile is easy, but it might require our approval if you change certain parts. Simply click on the “Edit Profile” link and you can edit or complete any of the sections you so choose. **Please note that editing the signup info or text portions will cause your profile to be set to “Pending” and will require our approval before you will be able to send messages again. Our approval process will normally take between 1 -12 hours and sometimes up to 24 hours.

How do I add photos?

On the right side you will see the “Manage Profile Pictures” link. This will take you to the page where you can add up to 10 photos. Please make sure the photos are in one of the accepted formats and are not too big in size. We do not accept any inappropriate (or fake) photos so please make sure your pics are in good taste and show what you truly look like. You can also use our photo editing function to crop your pics once you have uploaded them.

Can I change how many MTL email notices I get sent to me?

Your profile is originally set to send you emails when you receive a message or wink from another member on MTL. You can change these settings by clicking on the “My Settings” link and checking “No” for the emails you do not wish to receive. You can also be taken off our mailing list (if we ever decide to send mass emails) by sending us an email with “unsubscribe” as the subject.

Why can't I login to my account?

If it is a new account, it's possible we rejected your profile due to improper content. For existing accounts, we will suspend your profile if you add any inappropriate content or personal contact information. You will no longer be able to access your account once it is suspended.

Why is my photo not showing?

We do not allow any inappropriate photos on our site except for a few backside pics, but only if they are really cute.

How do I renew my membership?

There is no need for you to renew a “Free” membership. We will automatically renew your “Free” membership before it expires.

How do I upgrade my membership?

Click on the “Upgrade membership” link from your account panel and select a new membership level and payment method. You will be directed to the payment page and your account will be upgraded the instant you make your payment, but you will need to logout from MTL and then log back in to start enjoying the extra benefits.

How do I change my email address?

You can change your email address on the "edit your profile" page. Here you can change some other information including search preferences, address and other preferences about your daily routines, habits, hobbies etc. After you have made your changes, click "Save" at the bottom of the page to save.

How does "My Matches" work?

My Matches works according to the basic profile and "search preferences" from your profile page.

When someone emails me, where does the email go and how do I respond?

When a member sends you a message, it goes straight into your onsite message Inbox. We then send an email to your personal email address to let you know that it is there. To read the message, simply login to the site and go to your Inbox. If you decide to write back, simply click "reply", write your own note and send away. Your message will go straight into the members onsite Inbox, and we will let them know it is there with an email to their personal email address. All communications with other members stay onsite so that you never have to give out any personal information until you feel completely ready. Then when you are ready, you can exchange information and maybe even meet in person.

How do I edit my profile?

To update your profile, click "Edit Profile" in Members Panel menu. Be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the screen when you are done. A photo is key since most people feel more comfortable writing to members they can see. Try to stay positive in your essays and let the real you shine.

How do I hide my profile?

To hide your profile, select "No" for the option "Other members can see when I'm online?" on the "Edit Profile" page. Keep in mind, however, that members who are most active on the site keep their profile visible in all places because it ups their chances of connecting with people. And you never know, someone special may be looking for you and never get to find you if your profile is hidden.

When I cancel my membership, does it end my upgraded subscription? Can I put my subscription on hold?

No. Once you purchase a subscription, it will remain active for the remainder of your initial term. We will completely delete any canceled profiles after the membership expires or whenever you ask us to do so.
